Lib-Tech T.Rice Orca II Techno Split 2026/27 Review — Flex 8/10, From €1.259

Updated for the 26/27 season

Travis Rice rebuilt his Natural Selection-winning directional power fish into the Orca II Techno Split — a carbon-loaded all-terrain backcountry weapon for the 2026/27 season. Now with Karakoram UltraClip 2.0 and Tip-Locks Active joining system built in.

Construction

Unidirectional carbon over 30° carbon Mega-X over magnesium fiber bands wrapping a Paulownia and FSC® certified Aspen core. Sintered base. Genuinely lightweight for how stiff it rides — you feel the carbon stiffness on the descent without a weight penalty on the skin track.

Shape & Ride Character

Long floaty Orca nose with a short-radius “Whale Tail Technology” sidecut (7m). Volume Shift sizing: ride 3cm shorter than your normal board. The short effective edge means nimble climbing and precise technical descents.

Verdict

The Orca II Techno Split is Travis Rice’s personal backcountry tool in production form. Carbon construction, Whale Tail sidecut, and Karakoram hardware make it one of the most capable all-terrain splitboards available for 26/27. Early release at €1,259.99.
