Nothing. The price is set by the brand and is the same whether you arrive through this site or type the address yourself.
What this changes about the database
Nothing. Boards are included because they exist and their specifications can be verified against the manufacturer. Rank, sort order and Gear Advisor results are computed from the specs you filter on. There is no paid placement, no sponsored ranking and no pay-to-be-listed.
Which links earn commission
Only outbound links to a brand’s own shop, and only for brands we have an arrangement with. Those links carry rel="sponsored". Links to manufacturer spec pages used as sources earn nothing.

Why we do it at all
Running the database costs money. Commission is the only revenue model we could find that does not require selling influence over what you see. If that ever stops being true, this page changes first.
