What Makes a Board Good in Powder?
Three things: nose rocker (lifts the nose automatically so you don’t have to work to stay on top), setback stance (moves your weight toward the tail, keeping the nose up), and width (wider boards displace more snow, giving more float). Tapered shapes — wider at the nose, narrower at the tail — are the modern standard for powder boards.

Powder Board Sizing
Size up for powder. The general rule: take your normal board length and add 3–5cm. Longer boards have more surface area = more float. At 75kg body weight, aim for 158–163cm for powder-specific riding. If you’re buying one board for everything, 155–160cm is more versatile.
