Who we are
Splitboard-Specialist.com is an independent splitboard comparison database run by one person. The controller responsible for your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

What data we collect and why
You can use the whole site without an account and without telling us who you are. We collect only what the table below lists.

Contact. If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply.
Comments. If you leave a comment, we store your name, email address, comment and IP address to display the comment and to fight spam. Your email address is never shown publicly.
We do not sell your data, and we do not build profiles of you ourselves.
Cookies and consent
Analytics and advertising cookies are only set after you click “Accept all” or switch them on under “Settings”. Until then, Google Analytics, Google AdSense and the AvantLink script do not load at all. “Reject all” is just as easy as “Accept all”, and rejecting does not limit the site in any way.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. When you withdraw consent, the analytics and advertising cookies are deleted.

Google Analytics helps us see which boards and guides people use. We have switched on Google Consent Mode, so nothing is measured before you agree. Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Google AdSense shows ads on some pages. If you consent, Google may use cookies to show ads based on your interests. You can manage this at adssettings.google.com.
AvantLink is an affiliate network. We load its script only to verify that the site belongs to us, and only after your consent. AvantLink’s privacy policy explains what it does with that data.
Links to brands and shops
Board pages link to the brand or a shop where you can buy the board. Some of these links may be affiliate links: if you buy something after clicking, we may receive a commission. This never affects which boards we list or how we rank them; see our Affiliate disclosure.
When you click such a link, you leave our site. The brand, shop or affiliate network may then set its own cookies to register that you came from us. Their own privacy policy applies from that moment. We do not receive your name, address or what you bought, only that a sale took place and the commission.
Transfers outside the EU and how long we keep data
Some providers (Google, AvantLink, Automattic) may process data in the United States. Where they do, the transfer relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the data we hold about you
- have incorrect data corrected
- have your data deleted
- restrict how we use it
- receive your data in a common format (data portability)
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest
- withdraw your consent at any time, via “Cookie settings” in the footer; this does not affect processing before you withdrew
To use any of these rights, email nicksuyker@splitboard-specialist.com. We reply within one month.
You can also complain to a data protection authority. In Austria that is the Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb.gv.at. You may also contact the authority in the EU country where you live.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when we add or remove a service, for example a new affiliate network. The date at the top shows the latest version. Big changes that need your consent again will show up in the cookie banner.
